The successful candidate will work with personnel to maintain an acceptable level of quality of product shipped to Custom Castings’ customers and received from suppliers. This is accomplished by maintaining a structured yet flexible quality system as a tool used to meet or exceed customer requirements on a consistent basis.

Responsibilities:

    • Support internal and external quality concerns through investigation support, documentation, and follow-up communication with customers, suppliers, and internal teams. 
    • Provide Quality Assurance and Quality Control support to operations personnel as required.
    • Perform required FAI/PPAP inspection activities and prepare required documentation. 
    • Perform laboratory testing (density index, tensile test, hardness test, spectrometry) and prepare required certification of results. 
    • Develop, implement, and maintain all gauging, testing, and inspection procedures and equipment. 
    • Conduct and report on internal and external quality management system audits. 
    • Maintain control of all QMS required documentation.
    • As necessary, address quality of supplier products or services. 

The ideal candidate will have the following:

    • Post-secondary education or relevant experience in quality, manufacturing, mechanical technology, or a related technical discipline. 
    • Hands-on / team-based problem-solving skills.
    • Proven ability to interpret drawings and perform manual inspection using common measuring tools. 
    • Comfortable using basic PC applications, including Microsoft Excel and Word, for data entry, documentation, and reporting.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
    • Experience with CMM based inspection methods, PPAP, ISO 9001, and statistical methods would be considered an asset.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

    • Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move around the production floor as required.
